Chamber Music

Illinois has an active culture of chamber music and is proud to have the Jupiter String Quartet in residency.  Students interested in chamber music can enroll in courses offered by the string or accompanying divisions, or form their own groups independently under a faculty coach (including woodwinds and brass).

Private Lessons for Non-Music Majors

Private lessons, for credit, are available to UI students as instructor availablility permits. Acceptance is based on an audition. An extra fee applies once enrolled.

In most cases, lessons are taught by teaching assistants and participation in weekly studio classes may be an option.
