Kirstin Dougan came to UIUC in 2007 and is in charge of reference, instruction, and outreach for the Music Library. Her duties include managing the reference desk, coordinating library instruction for the School of Music, the Dance Department, and the Theatre Department, and developing the Library's media collection. She is a member of the Music Library Association (national and Midwest chapter). Her research interests focus on the tools of music libraries, music library researchers, library services, and where they intersect. She has had articles published in Music Reference Services Quarterly, MLA's Notes, and portal: Libraries and the Academy, among other journals. Prior to joining the UIUC Music Library she was Interim Head (2005-2007) and Public Services Librarian (2004-2007) at Duke University's Music Library and a Digital Projects Librarian at University of Wisconsin-Madison (2001-2004).
