INSTRUMENTAL CHAMBER MUSIC SYMPOSIUM

The Chamber Music Symposium is held at the beautiful Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois.  Pre-formed student string and wind chamber ensembles are selected by pre-recorded audition and rehearse under the supervision of a University faculty member or guest artist.  Each ensemble participates in a final recital on Saturday afternoon.  Activities begin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday April 8 and conclude at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 9 .The fee per participant, director, or chaperone is $175. This fee will pay for food and lodging. Space is limited so be sure to apply soon. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, March 1.

Recordings should be 7-15 minutes in length and consist of 2 movements or short works for chamber ensemble. Recordings may be emailed to allend@illinois.edu or mailed to the address on the application. Tapes and CDs are also accepted.
